At the Children’s Hospital Foundation, making a difference is not just about funding research and medical equipment – it is also about creating moments of joy for sick kids and their families. That’s where Mathew MacDonald comes in.
As our Impact Programs Coordinator, Mathew is the creative force behind all our exciting experiences at Queensland Children’s Hospital.
From special guest visits and petting zoos to hospital-wide events like the Queensland Children’s Hospital’s recent 10th birthday party, his role is all about bringing smiles to sick kids and their families.
Mathew’s career has taken him across the globe. He’s taught theoretical physics at universities, worked in a cancer research lab in Germany, spent time at Disney and even summer camps in Canada.
But through all these experiences, one thing became clear – he loves brightening people’s days. That passion is what led him to the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“We have the opportunity to play a small but crucial part in a family’s story, in what may be some of the hardest moments of their lives – and that’s really incredible,” shares Mathew.
At the Children’s Hospital Foundation, we know that every role makes a difference. By fostering a workplace that values passion, purpose and innovation, we empower our team to make a real impact for sick kids across Queensland and northern New South Wales.
