We provide a variety of entertainment services available to help you and your family during your hospital stay/visit. Delivered by our team of dedicated volunteers we can help provide distraction through fun, games, and entertainment.
Kidzone
Our Kidzone playroom is a place for kids to have fun, play and just be kids. There are a range of toys and entertainment activities available – including a craft table, giant LEGO, car tracks, a play shop and play kitchen.
We also offer free child minding for children over the age of two.
Come and visit us on Level 6 – follow the green feathers on the floor to find us.
Bedside Play

Toys and digital device loans
During your stay in hospital, you can borrow a range of toys and games, including LEGO, board and card games, dolls and figurines, craft sets, and lots more!
We also have Nintendo Switches, DVD players, iPads, and Leapfrog education devices available to borrow.
Craft packs and activity books
You can access craft packs and activity books from the family lounge in your ward, or waiting room in outpatient clinics to provide fun and entertainment during your time in hospital!
Sensory and playability toys
We are proud to offer a range of switch adapted, sensory and playability toys for loan from ‘Zayden’s Toy Box’.
These toys are available in Kidzone on Level 6 and can be borrowed to help provide entertainment in your room during your hospital stay.
In memory of Zayden.
In May 2021, four-year-old Zayden passed away from a life limiting and extremely rare condition GABRB2 Genetic Mutation. Zayden and his family had a huge input into establishing and developing the Playability service, we wanted to recognise their contribution.
So out of something very sad came something truly wonderful, the re-naming of the playability library to Zayden’s Toy Box.
Pet therapy
Pet therapy volunteers, and their furry friends provide distraction and entertainment to lighten the clinical environment with weekly visits to inpatient units.
These visits can help with pain management, stimulate the senses, have a calming effect on patients, and often bring lots of laughter.
Scholastic Book Bunker
With over 5000 books available to borrow, our Scholastic Book Bunker is the place to meet all your child’s reading needs.
You can visit us on Level 2 or our Book Bunker volunteers can visit your child at their bedside.
Juiced TV
Made by kids in hospital, for kids in hospital, Juiced TV gives children and their families the opportunity to star on their own TV show which airs on your in-room Patient Entertainment System and YouTube.
