Operating Theatre Support
Our Operating Theatre Support volunteers are there for you and your family during your surgical journey. From arrival to recovery, they can help you all stay calm and comfortable.
Free frozen meals
You will find free meals in your inpatient ward family room freezer.
These home-cooked meals are the legacy of a hospital family who set up the Scarlett May Foundation. The meals are nourishing, allergy and diet-sensitive, allowing you to look after yourself without having to leave your child’s side for more than a few minutes.
Steggles Cuddle Carers
Our specially trained Cuddle Carers provide comfort for patients and siblings aged 0-24mths. You can take a moment for yourself, or attend a medical meeting, knowing the little person you care for is being nurtured.
Emergency Department support
If you come to Queensland Children’s Hospital via the Emergency Department our volunteers and on hand to support you – from providing a hot drink for you to entertainment for your child.
If our volunteers are not available, you can see the Triage Nurse’s desk for a free entertainment item to help your child pass the time.
