Not everyone would jump on a motorbike to traverse 6,000km across some of Australia’s most unique and diverse landscapes to raise much-needed funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation…

But Gold Coaster Carl Howard (aka Greasy Belcher) has done just that. Over the course of 21 days, Carl rode from Byron Bay (the most eastern point of Australia) to Steep Point (the most western point) in Western Australia as part of The Great Australian Ride – an annual charity event that raises awareness and funds for sick kids.

As a kid, Carl was hit by a car on his bike and ended up in a coma for five days. Inspired by his experience, Carl not only wanted to change his mindset, but encourage others to have fun and step outside of their comfort zone.

It’s because of this that Carl chose to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Foundation and critically ill kids through rallying his local community.

With their generous support, Carl hosted an event and raffle at the Backbone Bar in Tugun called the “Last Supper” – raising $9,650 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
