Roaring into 2024, we’re excited to welcome AFL young gun Will Ashcroft to the Children’s Hospital Foundation team as our newest ambassador.

After a break-out rookie season on the field with the Brisbane Lions, Will Ashcroft has set his sights on a new goal off the field – to make a difference for sick kids with the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Will has committed to forming a strong bond with the Foundation team as an ambassador to show his support to families in hospital and help back our fundraising initiatives throughout the year.

On the new relationship, Will said: “From a young age, I’ve always been passionate about helping others and doing my bit to give back to the community.”

“As an ambassador for the Children’s Hospital Foundation, I’m committed to raising the spirits of kids in hospital and showing my support to the many families who are facing a significant challenge in their child’s health journey.”

To kick off the partnership on the right foot, Will visited sick and injured kids in hospital last Thursday with games, laughs and serious football talk.

For kids like four-year-old Jonathan, who has a congenital heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), the visit was a welcome distraction.

“For a family in hospital, visits like Will’s can take your mind off some of the challenges of your child’s health journey – even just for a moment – and lighten the emotional toil of your new reality,” said Jonathan’s Mum, Jess.
