Wednesday 19 October marked the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s second annual Thank You Day, where we recognised and thanked our supporters, partners and community for the enormous impact they are making in the lives of sick Queensland kids.

Across the day, 25 members of the Foundation team, including board members, called over 750 supporters to say thank you.

There were some wonderful stories, lots of laughs, and even a few tears. To ensure we thanked as many donors as possible, over 6,839 thank you emails were also sent.

But it wasn’t just about our donors – we also said a special thank you to over 115 volunteers who give their time to help make a difference to sick kids.

It is because of this support that we’ve invested more than $20 million over the last financial year into research, equipment, clinical excellence and patient and family support.

From kids with brain cancer, cystic fibrosis and burns, across Cairns, Mount Isa and Brisbane, we’ve helped Queensland’s sickest kids and their families through some of their most challenging days.

Kids like nine-year-old Rowan – who miraculously survived being thrown 15 metres from his motocross bike, undergoing multiple brain and skull surgeries – to Evie – who was only four weeks old when she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

Together, we can ensure kids like Rowan and Evie always have access to the best bedside care, treatments and ultimately, cures today and in the future.
