Matilda rings the bell!

Matilda, one of our truly wonderful Foundation ambassadors got to ring the bell to mark the end of her treatment.

In November 2017, at just six years old, Matilda was diagnosed with B cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.  She bravely completed her treatment and is now in remission, and celebrating being cancer-free!

Matilda had her final treatment for leukaemia in January 2020 but due to COVID restrictions, she had to put her bell ringing on hold.

But finally, in April 2021, she got to mark his wonderful milestone surrounded by her family and friends.

Being the inspirational young lady she is, Matilda wanted to give something back to the Foundation and help other sick kids like her, so she brought in a wonderful donation of toys and games.

Matilda said, “The Children’s Hospital Foundation made those bad days better by bringing me fun stuff, now I want to do the same for some other sick kids.”

Now ten, Matilda is making up for lost time and doing all the things she missed out on during treatment.
