When we launched our very first Sick Kids Giving Day last Thursday, we set the bar high because every kid deserves life saving, ground breaking, hope giving, tide turning healthcare.

In just 24 hours, the community rallied behind sick Queensland kids to raise an incredible $263,542.

We saw thousands of donations pour in and the most beautiful messages of support to help give strength to children and their families going through the toughest of times.

We saw nine of Queensland’s most beloved sporting teams run, dodge, dance, jump and throw their way into medal contention, with Blade from the Gold Coast Titans emerging victorious as the inaugural Mascot Games champion.

We saw an incredible $1.5 million donation from the Palaszczuk Government to kick off our fundraising efforts.

Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO, Lyndsey Rice is grateful beyond words for the support of our partners and community.

“We are speechless and blown away by the generosity demonstrated by Queenslanders on our first Sick Kids Giving Day,” Ms Rice said.

“Thanks to the support of the community, we can continue to fund cutting-edge equipment, vital research and on the ground support for children and their families right across the state.

“This contribution will help us put the funds in the right places to ensure no Queensland child is left lacking when it comes to world-class healthcare and treatment,” she added.

And the good news doesn’t stop there!

If you missed the day or haven’t been able to donate yet, the Queensland Government will continue to match every single donation made to the Children’s Hospital Foundation until 30 June.
