We provide a range of support services for you and your family while you are in hospital. From practical resources and supplies, to free frozen meals, we can help make your stay as easy as possible.

Our emergency clothing and toiletries are available to you if required during your hospital stay.

Please visit us in Kidzone on Level 6 – follow the green feathers on the floor to find us. Staff available Monday to Friday 9am – 4.30pm.

Our Wayfinder volunteers are like your own personal ‘sat nav’ and information service to help you find your way around Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Ask our Wayfinders for directions or information when you see them at the main reception desk on Level 2.

If you are a newly admitted family our Inpatient Orientation service will provide helpful information on hospital facilities and connect you to all the Foundation programs and services available.

Our Operating Theatre Support volunteers are there for you and your family during your surgical journey.  From arrival to recovery, they can help you all stay calm and comfortable.

Our specially trained Cuddle Carers provide comfort for patients and siblings aged 0-24mths.  You can take a moment for yourself, or attend a medical meeting, knowing the little person you care for is being nurtured.

You will find free frozen meals in the freezers located in the family lounge of your inpatient ward. The meals are provided in partnership with Fare Share and are nourishing, allergy and diet-sensitive, allowing you to look after yourself without having to leave your child’s side for more than a few minutes. The provision of these meals is the legacy of a hospital family in memory of their daughter, Scarlett May.
