Nine Telethon 2022 – Saturday 23 April, tune in from 7pm.

This year’s Telethon ambassador is five-year-old Archie, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in June 2020.

Fortunately, Archie is now on the road to recovery and in the maintenance phase of his treatment, which includes daily oral chemotherapy.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation was integral in giving the family support during their time in hospital, especially as Archie was having separation anxiety from his twin brother, Marty.

Queensland’s eighth annual Nine Telethon in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation was officially launched today, as well as the accompanying live fundraiser event, and will be broadcast on Saturday, April 23, at 7.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Funds raised from this year’s Nine Telethon will work wonders for Queensland’s sickest kids like brave Telethon ambassador Archie, the driving force behind the 2022 fundraiser.

The Telethon Concert also returns this year with headline performer Missy Higgins alongside rock trio Eskimo Joe and internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter, and Brisbane’s own, Jarryd James, to be held at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane.

Managing Director of Nine Queensland and Nine Northern NSW, Kylie Blucher, said: “We have lined up some of Australia’s best entertainers for the long-awaited return of the Nine Telethon Concert in April.

“It’s going to be the hottest ticket in town, with the goal of raising as much money as possible for the Children’s Hospital Foundation to support sick kids right across the state. I encourage Queenslanders to dig deep and give whatever they can for the worthiest of causes.”

Children’s Hospital Foundation Acting Chief Executive Officer, Olivia Jary, said: “We are so excited to have Eskimo Joe and Jarryd James joining the superb Missy Higgins for this year’s concert, bringing the community together for an incredible cause.”

“We really need all Queenslanders to come together and dig deep in these tough times for sick and injured kids. Every dollar raised through Telethon will help ensure that Queensland kids receive the very best care, always.”
