Now that the Greek festivities have settled, we’re saying thank you to George Samios and the wider Madd community for their generous support at the inaugural Madd Giving Back Charity Gala Ball earlier this month.

Formed to bring Madd’s ethos to ‘Make a Difference Daily’ to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the night saw the 458 guests in attendance raise an incredible $121,612.50 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation and some of Queensland’s sickest kids.

From Hellenic Dancers, ABBA and Bee Gees tribute bands to Australia’s most loved ‘Greek’ comic Vince Sorrenti, it was a charity gala to remember – one lucky raffle ticket holder even drove away in a new Hyundai Kona.

All funds raised from the night will help the Foundation continue to support life-saving research, critical new equipment and patient and family support services and change the lives of kids like one-year-old Georgia Brown, who was born with ‘half a heart’ or hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

Everything we do for sick and injured kids would not be possible without the generous support of partners like Madd – these partners are the reason we are able to help sick kids just be kids.”

– Lyndsey Rice, Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO

The energy and enthusiasm of George Samios and the wider Madd community is extraordinary, and we would like to thank every person in attendance for digging deep to help make a difference in the fight against childhood injury and illness,” Lyndsey added.

On behalf of the Foundation, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, bid in the silent auction or bought a car raffle ticket. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against childhood injury and illness.
