Making a difference, one step, run (or roll) at a time – G8 Education clocked up some serious impact for children with cancer across the month of August.

Team BBQs, dress up days and walk-a-thons were just some of the creative ways that G8 Education rallied their 430+ centre strong community to get behind our 42k Your Way virtual marathon fundraising challenge in August.

As the inaugural Presenting Partner, G8 set off with an ambitious target in 2023 – to beat last year’s enormous fundraising efforts and reach $200,000 in fundraising for childhood cancer research.

Their national network rose to the challenge, raising an incredible $200,890, inclusive of a generous $40,000 corporate donation from G8 Education, for world-leading research at the Ian Frazer Centre for Children’s Immunotherapy Research and the Children’s Brain Cancer Centre.

Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO, Lyndsey Rice thanked G8 Education for their incredible support.

“Throughout 42k Your Way, I’ve personally witnessed G8 Education’s dedication and enthusiasm to the cause,” Ms Rice said.

“Their commitment to fundraising, even in challenging circumstances, has been nothing short of extraordinary.”

Cancer kills more children than any other disease in Australia and impacts the lives of thousands of families each year, yet it is often an underfunded area of research.

“With the support of partners like G8 Education, we can fund the research that’s needed to drastically improve children’s cancer treatment and survival rates and create a better future for kids with cancer,” she added.
