We are proud to announce our new charity partnership with the Brisbane Broncos that will drive real impact for Queensland’s sick and injured kids both on and off the field throughout the 2026 season.

As part of the partnership, the team will dedicate this Friday night’s season opener against the Penrith Panthers to the Foundation, raising funds through their 50/50 Charity Raffle.

Footy season becomes giving season

Children’s Hospital Foundation is among 12 charities the Brisbane Broncos team is committed to supporting during the 2026 season.

Each charity partner will be recognised at a dedicated Broncos home game and Children’s Hospital Foundation is kicking off the team’s fundraising efforts at the first home game of the season – this Friday 6 March at Suncorp Stadium.

All funds raised at the game will help support the Foundation’s Bravery Beads program.

Our Bravery Beads program recognises the strength and courage kids in hospital show during each procedure or treatment. Every bead empowers sick and injured kids, recognising the latest procedure, surgery or milestone in their healthcare journey.

In FY2024-25, almost 6,000 beads were earned and gifted to children as recognition of their bravery in the face of illness and injury.

Scoring smiles and joy

In addition to raising funds at the Broncos first home game of the season for the Foundation, Broncos players will continue to show their support by visiting kids in hospital to play games, talk and lift the spirits of those who need it most.

Earlier this week, Alex Glenn, former Broncos captain, and Shannon Mato, Brisbane Broncos Women’s prop, visited Queensland Children’s Hospital and provided moments of joy for young fans and families.

“To come to the hospital in times like this and make [the children and families] forget what they’re going through right now – it’s a beautiful thing,” shared Mr Glenn.

“The greatest part of being an athlete is the impact you can have – putting those smiles on their faces when you know they need it the most.”

Combining passion and community

Since 2007, the Broncos’ Charity Partner Program has raised more than $4.5 million and supported over 100 charities across Queensland.

Children’s Hospital Foundation’s CEO, Lyndsey Rice, expressed the long-term change this partnership will bring.

“We are incredibly proud and thankful for this partnership with Brisbane Broncos,” said Ms Rice.

“Together, we’re ensuring world-class healthcare and vital support are accessible for every child, no matter their illness or injury. It’s a powerful reminder of the impact that’s possible when the community comes together.”
