Picture a Christmas gift tag adorned with the heartfelt wishes of young patients facing some of life’s toughest battles.
These wishes go beyond toys and games, reaching into the very heart of what these children yearn for – relief from pain, a cure for their rare disease or the chance to be home with loved ones.
This year, Children’s Hospital Foundation asks you to make own wish for children spending their holidays in the Queensland Children’s Hospital – a powerful reminder that even the simplest wishes can become a beacon of hope.
More than 9,000 children receive life changing care every December at Queensland Children’s Hospital. That’s nearly 300 wishes made by sick children each day.

Helping families like John's
From the moment John was born, his life was on a different path.
Diagnosed before birth with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a rare and life threatening neuromuscular condition, his family braced the worst – having already lost their first child, Hannah to the same illness.
But this time, there was hope. Just five days after birth, John received Zolgensma, a cutting-edge gene therapy that replaces the missing SMN1 gene critical for muscle function. This one-time treatment has given John the chance his sister never had.
Now 19 months old, John is thriving – hitting milestones, playing with his older brother Josiah and living a life free of SMA’s devastating effects.
