2026 Mary McConnel Career Boost Program for Women in Paediatric Research
Available to employees of Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service, the Mary McConnel Career Boost Program for Women in Paediatric Research will provide financial assistance and mentoring support for outstanding female clinician researchers, from pre-PhD through to early- and mid-career stages.
Through the 2026 Mary McConnel Career Boost Program, Children’s Hospital Foundation is committed to supporting the Children’s Health Queensland Research Strategy and developing the CHQ workforce, particularly clinician researchers who have not been eligible to apply previously.
This focus on health research within the state-wide service of Children’s Health Queensland will create opportunities for women in paediatric research to progress their future as clinician researchers – delivering transformational impact for children and young people in Queensland and beyond.

Applications open at 8am on Sunday 8 March 2026 (International Women’s Day) and close at 5pm on Wednesday 15 April 2026.
